I’m pleased to share a short film I produced of last weekends Cole Classic, Australia’s biggest ocean swim taking place in Manly, Sydney. This film comprises of a few thousand still images, one taken every second using a stills camera (Canon 5D MkII). For more information on the techniques used in this short film please subscribe to this blog for email updates. I plan to release an ebook in the coming weeks and will share lots of other tips in future blog posts, stay tuned.
Comments are more than welcome, thanks for stopping by.
Hi Lee,
great video. Excellent work, I'm looking forward to the ebook. Did you use a canon Tilt Shift lens to do the work? If so which focal length did you use?
Great work.
Ian
Hello Ian,
Thanks for the comment. I don't own a tilt shift lens so instead I shot it normally then using an action (which mimics the effect), batch process all the images in Photoshop giving the miniature look and feel. I'm making a video on the whole process so watch this space for more information.
Cheers
Lee
So I should ditch the idea of buying that lensbaby composer and put my money towards Photoshop?
You'll get more use out of Photoshop, that's for sure. It's quite an easy process to do once you know how….better get back to that ebook so I can show you guys.
I had a short break in 2011 and went over to Sydney to visit some storage facilities and learn from their best practices, hoping to bring these back to Gold Coast. I had the opportunity to watch the Cole Classic during the weekend and it was a great event. I have always wanted to be a triathlete, but I am not a very good swimmer. Thus, looking at the swimmers battle the strong current of the ocean and pushing themselves, not only to beat the others but also to test their own limits, I was hoping that I was among them. But with the kind of schedule that I have back home, I don’t even know when to have time to relax. Hopefully, soon, I will be able to practice my swimming and at least compete in short distances for swimming.
