The Holy Island of Lindisfarne, or Holy Island is a rugged island off the North East Coast of England, United Kingdom. Holy Island is a tidal island which gets cut off from the main land for several hours a day. Many visitors have found themselves stranded as the incoming tide engulfs the causeway. The main attractions are the 16th Century Lindisfarne Castle perched on the highest point of the island and the characteristic upturned fishing boat sheds.
