A short drive from Sydney the Blue Mountains National Park is a unique wilderness area with many places to visit. The mountains appear blue due to gases released by the endless eucalyptus forest. The Blue Mountain region has more to offer than just the famous Three Sisters, a rock formation best viewed from a lookout in Katoomba. For me the most stunning of attractions and a must visit is the Valley of the Waters, a series of cascading waterfalls through the sandstone and woodland. The Valley and the best of the waterfalls is accessible via stairs down the side of the Conservation Hut near Wentworth Falls.
