Provence is world famous known for its quaint old villages and sprawling lavender fields. The epicenter of lavender seems to be Valensole and the surrounding countryside found in the North of Provence. A short drive at the right time of the year and you will come to agree with this. Lavender is everywhere. Its sweet scent fills the air and farmers, tourists and photographers alike line the narrow country roads to witness the spectacle. If it was green would we still marvel? I guess not…
Sunset was almost upon us and the storm clouds were brewing. Heavy clouds with thunder and lightning were rolling in from my right. Experience told me I had some time however I came to realise the storm was moving crazy quick. Photographing the best of the light was to be rained off. This was the last shot I captured before getting soaking wet on a mad dash back to the car. I love this kind of weather, it makes for the most interesting of photographs. Next time bring the umbrella.
I would like to get wet – or even something worse 😉 – to be able to shoot an image like this: Absolutely brilliant! Well done!
