Wow, didn’t expect that, three out of four prints submitted winning a Silver Award at this years NSW AIPP Epson Professional Photographer of the Year Awards. That’s my best result yet at the state awards, hopefully my success will continue onto the Nationals where each Silver award gets me closer to Accreditation and my Masters with the AIPP. What does this really mean, well for something that is subjective according to a panel of professional judges my images were award worthy, and show that I have improved since my first entries in 2010.
Silver Award: “A Silver Award (80 to 84 marks) is considered to be a high standard of professional practice, professional craft or professional skill. The judges are looking for something exemplary, something that is over and beyond what we do on a day to day basis. For this reason, many very good professional photographs don’t get a Silver Award, not because they don’t reach an acceptable standard, rather because they didn’t excite or impress other professional photographers who probably shoot the same type of work on a daily basis”
That’s my boy xx
